To: PSSMA REGULAR & ASSOCIATE MEMBERS Subject: PSSMA 2010 ANNUAL MEETING ANNOUNCEMENTAGENDA REGISTRATION GENERAL INFORMATION
Please join your fellow PSSMA members and associates at the 2010 Annual Meeting at the Rosen Centre Hotel, Orlando, Florida, on November 4-7, 2010. This year, the Technical Committee will meet on Thursday, November 4 and the Board of Directors, Marketing Council and Associates Group will meet on Friday, November 5, followed by our traditional welcoming reception and dinner. See General Information.
Saturday morning’s General Session will focus on core issues affecting the US multiwall industry. Dick Storat will kick it off with his perspective on the economic and business conditions in which the industry will operate next year, and follow that with a review of current US multiwall industry performance and notable trends. From his unique perspective as a key worldwide multiwall machinery developer and supplier, Hans Deamer, the US head of Windmoeller & Hoelscher, will provide a strategic overview of global multiwall market trends. How global developments in the Laminated Woven Sack sector of the flexible packaging industry could impact the US multiwall industry is the topic to be addressed by Alan Jones of Starlinger. Ron Regan will discuss conditions and trends in global kraft paper supply, an essential factor in business planning for 2011.
The full spectrum of environmental concerns regarding our consumption of goods is increasingly being included under the rubric of sustainability. AF&PA’s Cathy Foley will bring us up to date on the broad range of initiatives underway in the US forest products industry to address and promote the sustainability and renewability aspects of paper-based packaging in the marketplace and public policy arenas. Importantly, she will report on The Responsible Packaging Campaign, which affords the US multiwall industry an opportunity to join with the other sectors of the US paper-based packaging industry in promoting the benefits of paper-based packaging. See the agenda for details.
